Mrs. Sakina Jennette Heckstall, affectionately known as “Kina” across Hampton Roads, is a proud Virginia native with an inspiring story! Growing up in a single-parent household one of four children Kina not only graduated high school but also discovered her passion for cosmetology. In 1994, she earned her Cosmetology license and has since become a true legend in the industry! Her relentless pursuit of excellence and her “Leave no customer unsatisfied” mantra have allowed her to build a diverse clientele throughout the metropolitan area.

Kina's incredible talent has graced the pages of numerous national and international magazines, showcasing her artistic flair. After years of honing her craft in local salons, she took her education to the next level by obtaining a Business Management Bachelors of Science degree from Old Dominion University, followed by a life coaching certification and a cosmetology instructor's license. In April 2015, she launched Hair Matrix Beauty Bar, LLC, her first salon, which continues to thrive! Recently, she was honored with the Fan's Choice Award for her Chesapeake Salon and received recognition for her community impact in 2024.

Kina is also the visionary behind Shears Beauty Education, set to open in 2025, and Full Circle Coaching Service, offering life coaching. Her expertise includes salon coaching for licensed cosmetologists, personalized classes, and life coaching workshops. As the author of two books, Shop Talk and Salt on Open Wounds, and an educator at a nationally accredited cosmetology school, Kina embodies determination and perseverance. This remarkable wife, mother, and businesswoman is a shining example of what can be achieved, no matter the circumstances!
